If  I was standing on a bridge with my hands tied behind my back and a rope around my neck, I would have a couple of things going through my head. One of them would be my family. If I was to jump and end it all, I would never be able to see my family again. Another thing is the reason why I am on the bridge in the first place. If I'm on that bridge for something stupid then I'm going to get off. But when you think about it, nothing is worth hanging yourself from a bridge.

People today in the modern world have life made. For example, cell phones, we could live without them. People were able to live without them before they came out, so why can't we now? Also, air conditioning, it's a wonderful luxury that makes life a little better when it's hot, but we use to live without it before it came out. There are so many modern conveniences and we take them all for granted. We should be a little more thankful in life for all of these things.

People today have trouble making decisions in life. They don't know which road to go down. Some want to stand out and make a difference, and others want to follow and be like everyone else. People today need to stand out more and be themselves and not be so conformative. And also, the tension between conformative people and individual people are high. Just be yourself and don't worry about what others think.

Individuals can make a lot of difference in our society. They make society run basically. And without people, we would have no society. Think about it this way, if one person with a million dollars was to donate their money to charity, then they would be making a big difference, and that's just one person! Anyone could make a difference, they just have to chose to do so.

How much power do formal institutions have in our society?

I think that formal institutions have a lot of power in society. Like churches, they have a lot of power and influence in the society. Also schools and educational programs, they help hold society together. That's because most places don't want a bunch of uneducated idiots as employees. And the government has the most power in society because it is the society's backbone. It keeps everything in order and running smoothly.

Can one be too determined?

Can one be too determined? In my book, one can only be as determined as they want to be. I think the most determined someone could be is up to the point of obsession. If a person wants something bad enough then they will find a way to get what they want no matter what. But when somebody loses all interest in everything else, even the important things, just to get one thing, then they could be too determined.

What do you think is the most important quality of gothic stories.

When I hear the word gothic, I think of dark and scary. So that means gothic stories are suppose to be dark and scary. The ability to frighten or scare the readers is a key element in making a good gothic story. Also having a dark and mysterious setting and mood is very helpful and important in making a gothic story.

Do you agree that there is darkness within us all?

Is there darkness in all of us? Yes, I believe that there is darkness in all of us. There may be more in one person than another. But there is darkness in all of us. Just some of the things we do could be considered dark but we don't think they are. Like lying, lying is never good, even if it's for the best. But there is only one person who I know of that is not dark in any way, shape, or form, and that is Jesus Christ.

Why can dreamlike settings be powerful in literature and film?

I think that dreamlike settings can be very powerful in literature and film. It allows the author to just let all of their ideas just flow out of their mind perfectly the way he/she wants them to. The story could end anyway they want it to and the number of ideas for the story are limitless. And sometimes, a good author needs a good free write and just let everything flow out and put it on paper.

What can happen if a secret is kept too long?

I do not like keeping secrets for a long time. Sometimes after awhile, I will forget the secret. But most of the time I won't. Also, I don't like keeping secrets that much. Just because of the fact that I have to lie to people when they ask if I know anything about the secret. And I don't like lying to people because it isn't right to lie.

Have you ever observed greedy behavior in others?

Have I ever observed someone being greedy? Yes I have, and it was ridiculous. We'll with gas prices being so high, my dad was looking for a small truck or jeep to save on gas. We we're looking everywhere for one, then finally one day we found something similar. It was a Suzuki Samurai. So we called the owner and set up a time to go and look at it. We already knew it was in rough condition and needed repairs. We were going to buy it until we found out how much he was asking for it. All together the vehicle was worth about $500 dollars, but this guy was asking $5000 dollars for it! That is outrageous! We told the guy no deal and that he was asking too much for it. And when we left, my dad told me that was rediculous and was a good example of greed.

Some people hear voices while they are in the woods. This has been going on for hundreds even thousands of years, that they hear whispers in the woods. It could be the voice in their head or just their imagination. Others who don't hear the voices think that those who do hear it are crazy. They could hear a noise and it may sound similar to a voice. But I think it's just their imagination.

People fear lots of things. But most people fear what they do not know. They are scared to experience new things. Maybe it's because they have had bad experiences in the past and they don't want to be reminded of them.

A speech requires certain things to be effective. It must have good vocabulary and is understandable. You need to have good verbal communication to the audience. Do not speak quiet or soft, speak clearly and where people can understand you. The introduction is very important also, have a good introduction so you don't make your audience suffer of boredom. Grab their attention as soon as you start speaking. That's how I think a speech would be effective.

The best speech I've ever heard was the time my parents gave me a speech about always doing my best at everything I do. It was the best speech to me because I will always remember when they gave it to me and I will never forget what they said.
